Article to Video

Blog to Video: Turn a Blog Post into a Video

For bloggers who want more from posts they've already written: paste a blog post link and get a narrated video with stock footage and captions, ready for YouTube or Shorts.

Works with public blog posts. Members-only posts can't be read, so paste the text instead.

We fetch the page to read its text and don't store it.

What is blog to video?

Blog to video means turning a blog post into a video: the text becomes scenes, each scene gets footage, and a voice and captions are added. It is the reverse of the "video to blog" tools that turn a recording into an article. Here the post is the starting point and the output is a new video.

Paste the link to a public blog post and the tool reads its main text, leaves out menus and footers, and shows you the paragraphs. You choose what stays, check the scenes, and export. The video is made in your browser.

How to turn a blog post into a video

  1. 1

    Paste the post link

Use the address of a public post. We fetch that one page to read its text and don't store it.

  2. 2

    Drop what you don't need

Untick paragraphs such as a long intro, a sign-up pitch or a comment prompt.

  3. 3

    Pick footage and voice

Check each scene's footage, swap what doesn't fit, then choose AI voice, your own audio or captions only.

  4. 4

    Export for YouTube or Shorts

Export 16:9 for a regular YouTube video, or 9:16 for a vertical Short.

Which blogs can be read

Public posts that show their text without a login usually work, on WordPress, Substack, Medium, Ghost and similar platforms. The tool reads the page the way a visitor would, so:

  • Members-only Medium stories and paid Substack posts can't be read. Copy the text and use Paste text.
  • Pages that load their text with scripts after the page opens may come back empty.
  • Only use posts you wrote or have permission to use.

When a post can't be read, the tool says so and switches to Paste text so you can carry on.

Turn one post into more than one video

A post you already wrote is cheap raw material. You can export it twice from the same scenes:

  • A 16:9 version for YouTube, embedded back into the original post so readers can watch instead of read.
  • A 9:16 version for Shorts, keeping only the main points after unticking the rest.
  • A caption-only version with no voice for silent autoplay feeds.

Nothing is re-edited between versions. Change the format, export again.

Tutorials

Make a how-to post into a captioned walkthrough with footage that matches each step.

Limits to know

  • Images from your post are not moved into the video. Footage comes from Pexels, or a text card when nothing fits.
  • The AI voice reads English only. Upload your own audio for other languages.
  • A full post makes a long video. Untick paragraphs for a short one.
  • Only use posts you own or have permission to use.

If you have the text but no link, use article to video and paste it directly. For a story you wrote for a vertical channel, see the Reddit story video generator. The URL to video page covers every input in one place.

Key facts

  • Free, with no watermark and no sign-up. Exports are 720p.
  • Made in your browser: pasted text, PDFs and audio are not uploaded.
  • Your exact wording is kept. Scenes are cut at sentence breaks and nothing is rewritten.
  • Footage comes from Pexels, with openly licensed Openverse images as a backup. The AI voice reads English only; you can upload your own audio instead.
  • Pro (server voices, server rendering, batch) is coming soon. Nothing is charged.

Blog to Video FAQ

Does it work with WordPress, Substack and Medium?

It depends on the post. Public posts that show their text without a login usually can be read, whatever platform they're on. Members-only Medium stories, paid Substack posts and pages that load text with scripts may fail. When a post can't be read, paste its text into Paste text instead.

Will my blog images be used?

No. Images from your post aren't moved into the video. Each scene gets stock footage from Pexels based on its keywords, or a text card if nothing fits. If you need your own images, this tool isn't the right fit yet.

Can I make a YouTube Short from a blog post?

Yes. Choose the 9:16 format before you export. A full post makes a long video, so untick the paragraphs you don't need and keep only the main points. You can also export the same post again in 16:9 for a regular YouTube video.

Is blog to video free?

Yes. You can turn as many blog posts into videos as you like in your browser, with no watermark and no sign-up. Free exports are 720p. Pro, coming soon, adds server voices, server rendering for long and 1080p videos, and batch for several posts at once.
