This Privacy Policy explains how Article to Video ("we", "us", the "Service"), available at https://article-to-video.pages.dev/, handles information when you use the website. The Service is run by an individual operator.
The short version
- Text you paste, PDFs you upload, and audio you upload stay in your browser. They are processed on your device and are not sent to our servers.
- If you paste an article link, we fetch that one page on our server to extract the article text and send it back to your browser. We don't store the link or the text.
- Stock media searches send keywords taken from your text to Pexels through our server. If that search is unavailable, your browser sends the keywords directly to Openverse to find openly licensed images.
- We use Google Analytics to count page views and button clicks. Analytics never includes your text, files, audio, or the links you paste.
- We don't sell your personal information. We have no accounts and collect no email addresses.

What we do not receive: text you paste, PDF files, audio files, generated voiceovers, and exported videos. These are created and kept on your device. If you close or refresh the page, they are cleared unless your browser saves a download you chose to make.
2. Cookies
We use Google Analytics cookies only:

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, these cookies are off until you click "Accept" in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" button in the footer of every page.

Your browser may also cache the voice model files so the next video starts faster. These are software files, not information about you.

When you import a link, our server requests that page from the website that hosts it. That request comes from our server, not from your browser, and does not include information about you.
4. How long we keep data
- Pasted text, files, audio, voiceovers, videos: not received, so not kept.
- Imported links and page text: not stored after the import finishes.
- Stock search results: cached on our server for a short time to stay within Pexels rate limits. The cache contains keywords and media results only.
- Google Analytics data: kept according to the retention setting of our Google Analytics property.
- Server request logs kept by Cloudflare: according to Cloudflare's own retention.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
- Analytics cookies: your consent through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Article import and stock search: needed to provide the feature you asked for.
- Technical request data: our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the website.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@howtallai.com. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Because we never receive your text, files, or audio, there is nothing of that kind for us to return or delete. For analytics data, clearing your cookies breaks the link between you and past usage data.
If you're in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track: our site does not change its behavior based on "Do Not Track" signals. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
7. Security
All pages and functions are served over HTTPS. Because your content is processed on your device, it is not exposed to our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Paid plans
Paid plans are not available yet. Prices shown on the site marked "coming soon" are for interest only; clicking them does not collect payment or personal details. If we launch paid plans, we will update this policy before they go live, including which payment provider we use.
10. Changes
We'll update this page when the Service changes how it handles data, and change the "Last updated" date above.
